Virtual Tourism Network
VTN initially contacted us regarding a tidy-up for their old site that was done quite a few years ago. By taking a WordPress install and heavily editing a custom theme chosen by VTN, we’ve come up with a quick and tidy website that allows for VTN to take on the day to day editing on their own once we complete the reworking. The next step will be to incorporate some basic e-commerce into the site so that prospective buyers can get the process underway as quickly as possible. Some interesting challenges were solved, mostly centered around how to make some WordPress’isms work correctly under Windows web hosting.
Ilus Elu
Towards the end of 2008, we decided that we would take the skin care products that Ilus Elu had been selling onto the web as a full featured E-Commerce storefront. After an exhaustive look at the variety of packages available for this kind of site, we settled on using Interspire’s Shopping Cart software to handle this. It’s been a robust and flexible package that we’ve been very happy with. Much like any package of this size and complexity, it’s not without it’s quirks, however, support from Interspire has been excellent on the few times it was needed and we’d highly recommend the package to anyone looking for a store software package that comes with nearly anything you could possibly need. As the site has progressed, we’ve custom coded in social networking hooks to Twitter and Facebook, and done extensive work on the design theme. We also added in a simple wordpress blog and future plans include adding a forum component for the product tester panel.
Peter Hiltner
This site began as so many have over the years. An email asking if we had the time to throw together a quick site for a musician (a talented one at that!) who was looking to drum up some more work and at the same time, give fans of his talents somewhere online to find out more information. We refer to these as hit and run sites, developed quickly, professionally and with an attention to detail that’s necessary to make a site “pop” out from amongst other artists of a similar approach. One face to face meeting and a handful of hours later, we have a fully functional site that’s showing up in search engines quite nicely, and most importantly, generating leads for new work and new fans! Future plans for this site will include converting to be a WordPress based site so that Peter can easily make show date and other changes on his own.
